A Royal visit to Dents in Warminster
It was a great pleasure to be asked to photograph a visit by HRH Princess Anne to Dents in Warminster. Fascinating too to learn something about the history of Dents, who have been making high-quality handmade leather gloves for over two hundred years, including for the Queen’s coronation. The gloves are still hand-made on Singer sewing machines in the Warminster factory by highly skilled workers, some of whom have been with the company for over 40 years. As President of the UK Fashion & Textile Association, The Princess Royal was to open the new headquarters of Dents on a new site in Warminster. Thanks to Tradewinds PR in Somerset who commissioned me, this was to be my first ‘local’ shoot since moving to Wiltshire a few months ago. Here’s hoping more follow!
